Seychelles Tourism Board Office Paris Attends Consumer Fairs
The Seychelles Tourism Board Office in Paris has begun its work to reach one million tourist arrivals in 2013 by attending three consumer fairs throughout Europe. The three consumer fairs in Scandinavia and Benelux promoted tourism links all over the world. The manager of the Seychelles Tourism Board in Paris, Karen Confait, visited each of these fairs personally in order to oversee proceedings and promote Seychelles luxury holidays personally. The first trade fair took place in Vakantiebeurs, Utrecht. The Dutch hosted a fantastic fair from the 8th to the 13th of January, with a massive 102,393 visitors attending. The Seychelles took full advantage of their surroundings with an 18 square-metre stand in the heart of the action. It featured a delegation consisting of trade partners like the Coco De Mer Hotel and the Sainte Anne Beachcomber Resort. The first day saw the trade partners meet to discuss potential collaborations in the future. And the rest of the fair involved the Seychelles Tourism Board meeting with tour operators and airlines like Emirates to discuss special marketing plans to make the Seychelles a more profitable location. The second fair took place in Helsinki, Finland, which had 76,477 visitors over a four-day period from January 16th to January 20th. The Seychelles represented itself well with two major partners from Praslin Island. These were the Coco de Mer Hotel and the L'Archipel Hotel. The third fair in Brussels, Belgium from January 31st to February 4th was even more successful as the Seychelles unveiled a delegation consisting of four major trade partners. These were the Seychelles European Reservation, Banyan Tree, L'Archipel Hotel, and the Coco de Mer Hotel. All three fairs were a resounding success for the Seychelles Tourism Board. They reported how their stands at all three fairs were full of visitors. News coming from the Seychelles Tourism Board said most visitors were interested in the history of the country and the honeymoon packages. Diving was the most popular attraction the country had to offer. Salon Vacances and MATKA in Belgium and Finland respectively involved the tourism board revealing a selection of offers and packages especially for visitors. The presence of the Seychelles as a destination in this region of the world is vital for its continued growth as it continues to gain prominence. As the European economic recovery continues, the country has a major opportunity to take advantage of the increasing amount of people looking to take an exotic holiday. The Seychelles Tourism Board in Paris has been tasked with increasing awareness of the destination, solidifying business contacts around the continent, and generating more business for the country. These three fairs are a highlight of the tourism trade and are amongst the biggest events throughout the world; therefore, success in these locations plays a big part in whether the Seychelles hits its targets in 2013.
