Korea To Join In Seychelles Carnival 2012
The annual Seychelles Carnival is getting ready to kick off March 2 with a three-day event organizers hope to be the best one yet. The theme of this year's carnival is one which promotes international acceptance of other countries and cultures around the world. To that end, the Seychelles Tourism Board is pleased to announce an agreement that will see Korea send a delegation to the 2012 Carnival. Korea's participation will consist of several different opportunities including a decorated truck for the Carnival procession. The truck will be themed with traditional Korean decorations and will include traditional Korean musicians specialising in percussion. The delegation will perform for the Opening Ceremonies as well as during the Carnival's Family Fun Day. Seychelles Tourism Board CEO and Alain St. Ainge welcomed the agreement with hopes that it will lead to increased visibility in Korea. Seychelles has been pressing hard to promote itself as a tourist destination in Asian countries, even as St. Ainge has been criss-crossing the globe pitching his country everywhere he can. Both Seychelles and the Indian Ocean region in general are relying more heavily on increased Asian arrivals to offset the slowdown of guests arriving from France and other parts of Europe. "We are indeed happy with this announcement, because we wanted to raise our visibility in Korea," St. Ainge said. "Their participation will bring about press coverage in Korea and the neighbouring countries and this will help the tourism industry in Seychelles get more known." The annual Seychelles Carnival is one of the premier events that draw tourists from every corner of the globe. The international event always seems to go out of its way to encourage participation among as many countries as possible. It's a way to not only expose Seychellois to other cultures, but a way for showcasing the islands of the Seychelles to Carnival participants at the same time. It goes without saying that many who come for the first time just for Carnival make plans to come back again. Many of the country's hotel operators are getting into the full swing of things by offering special deals on Seychelles all inclusive holidays during the first week in March. The idea is to bring arrivals in for the Carnival, yet give them a full 7 to 10 days of all Seychelles has to offer. Packages provide accommodations, airfare, meals, and transport to and from the airport. Some of the hotels are throwing in extra amenities as well. There is still plenty of space available if you'd like to be part of the 2012 Carnival. The festivities kick off on Friday, March 2 and run through Sunday at March 4, 2012. Guests can expect plenty of good music, food, cultural events, and more. If you've never experienced it before Seychelles Carnival is an event not to be missed.
