Festival 2012 Comes To St. Lucia
There are already plenty of great reasons to visit St. Lucia in the Caribbean, but this year now offers yet another one: the 2012 Food Festival events at Jade Mountain. The events will take place on four different weekends throughout the year, with each one having a specific theme attached to it. They are open to both the guests of Jade Mountain resort as well as visitors from other properties on the island. Jade Mountain is routinely voted by travellers to be among the best resorts in the world year after year. More often than not, the resort takes the top spot among St. Lucia luxury hotels . It is a place where beauty and luxury meet to create the perfect holiday destination for the most discriminating traveller. This year the resort wants to continue what it has long been known for while at the same time encouraging guests to learn more about Caribbean culture through the art of food. The Food Festival events will be featuring plenty of local Caribbean fare. Guests can expect the cashews, avocados, oranges, and papaya from the resort's grounds at Anse Mamin. They'll also be treated to cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and other organically grown products from nearby Emeralds Estate. Foods will be prepared according to traditional Caribbean recipes passed down from one generation to the next. It is a real opportunity to delight yourself in what it truly means to be from St. Lucia. Beyond just the festival events, St. Lucia is perhaps one of the most beautiful places in all the Caribbean. It is most well-known for three of the region's greatest natural wonders: a drive-in volcano, the islands of sulphur springs, and the world-famous St. Lucia Botanical Gardens. If marine wildlife is more your thing, there is plenty of that to see as well. St. Lucia offers several prime diving locations where exotic marine life is plentiful. If you prefer to stay closer to shore there are opportunities for snorkelling and skin diving too. If you're planning to visit St. Lucia this year why not choose one of the weekends of Food Festival "Cooking in Paradise" (featuring traditional, locally grown Caribbean cuisine) runs from March 30 to April 2; "Mango Madness" is on the docket for June 15 through the 18th; September 7-10 will feature the "Spices of the Caribbean"; December 13-16 it's the Jade Mountain "Chocolate Festival."
